Course Author: Mark Eaton, Ph.D.
Associate Vice President for Instructional Technology
PY 321 Leadership is one of the courses I teach in the Advantage program. I held several roles in the development of this course:

  • Instructional Designer
  • ANGEL course developer
  • Faculty Instructor

From the Author:

"At Avila University we felt that participating in the Blackboard Exemplary Course program was an excellent way of knowledge sharing with others outside of our organization on what we were attempting to do online. The program’s peer review process and feedback were invaluable in helping us continuously improve our online offerings. I personally viewed this opportunity as professional development and eagerly shared with our faculty everything I learned from it."

About the Course:

PY 321 Leadership is an online course offering as part of the Advantage program at Avila University. Students are typically adult learners who are pursuing a degree while working full-time. This course provides an overview of leadership theories and how they apply in modern organizations. The course also helps students evaluate their potential and readiness to be leaders whether at work, in the community, within groups, or in any other form of organization. The online format of the course was developed as an instructional design model for other online courses at Avila University.
